Adolf Luther is considered one of the main representatives of light kinetic art. Around 1960, working with the material glass, he found his way to the subject of light and dematerialization, or light as a design factor in space, which was to become decisive for his further work. In particular, he used concave mirrors to achieve light refraction and reflection effects. Luther's concave mirror objects reflect light and outlines of the surroundings and break up the reflections into different facets through their angular shape. The framework structure, which is permeable on all sides, intensifies the play with light. The immaterial becomes an integral part of the sculpture, whose constructive-stringent formalization has an abstracting effect on the spatial impression.
