When looking at the painting "Swinging Orange", the first thing that stands out is the violet-blue double stripe that runs horizontally at first and is drawn downward at a 45° angle in the center, as well as the red color bar on the upper side of the painting. In contrast, the title clearly assigns the main role to the presumed background color orange. If one now tries to accept this color, which quantitatively also takes up the most space, as the main protagonist, the picture certainly gets into motion - the forms show themselves to be less unambiguous, downright irritating, and the colors enter into a dialectical relationship to one another, whereby the orange sometimes knows how to reach out far - as in the lower half of the picture - and sometimes subtly plays around the red. In this way, the entire title also acquires its special meaning: the space, which is created in terms of perception psychology, experiences a swinging, and in view of the reception of the music, also swinging dynamic, which can be experienced as a harmonic mood through the symmetry.
