Literature: Ausst.Kat. Jürgen Brodwolf. First was the figure and then come the works. Gallery Schlichtenmaier 2002, Cat.No.4, Fig. p. 36

Jürgen Brodwolf found his own sculptural concept in 1959. With his art figure, christened "Tubenfigur", he has since settled beyond traditional material and form. His desire to experiment denies him any routine or repetitiveness, allowing him to play with the possibilities of combination, as can also be felt in the object work "Schwarzer Schuh" (Black Shoe) from 1962. Brodwolf's devotion to scenic arranging and the resulting contextual mixtures constantly give rise to new levels of meaning that can open up the most diverse chains of associations to the attentive viewer, depending on his personal worldview and imprint.
