Freimann's sculptures "Wenga", "Knäuel" and "Ballung" belong to the series of steel sculptures that the Stuttgart artist began in 1979. All works in this series consist of sandblasted, spray-galvanized, primed angle pieces painted with red industrial color RAL 3000. The signal red heightens the expressive and recalcitrant character and the expression of stored energy.
"In my work, against the law of gravity, the angular elements rise in steps like individual branches of a tree or the fingers of a hand in the sky." (Christoph Freimann)
