The Schlichtenmaier Gallery is pleased to reintroduce one of the seminal artists from its program: Peter Sehringer. With this major overview of his work, the gallery not only follows up on previous presentations in its own house, but also picks up the solo exhibition at the Stuttgart State Gallery in 2001 - at the opening spoke its former director Prof. Dr. Christian von Holst.
Once again, the visitor can get to know the full breadth of the artist, which, however, has developed even more versatile. With his refined techniques and bold color mixes, which go beyond the genre of brush painting - one recognizes a proximity to incrustation and terrazzo on the one hand, to the relief on the other -, Sehringer is breaking new ground, which makes him a timeless artist precisely because of this: his confident alternation between abstract and figurative elements shows him as a master of postmodernism.
