"Deserttrip I" from a series of 2015 is Peter Sehringer's painterly reflection on the sensory illusions in deserts - the silhouettes can be interpreted as riders dashing forward out of nowhere, possibly attackers. But they could just as well be fleeing to the rear. The grainy admixture in the acrylic paint reinforces the impression of a shimmering, dusty atmosphere. In addition, the viewer's impression also fluctuates between the enormous speed of the scene through an almost onomatopoeic representation of the figure beat on the one hand, and the frozen moment we know from film stills on the other.
