From his early works, Friedemann Hahn pursued the audacious goal of combining Pop Art with the Western. The painting "Lupo, Apsaroke" from 1985 is a good example of this. Both Pop art and the Western genre can be grasped through collective images. Hahn takes up these popular cultural clichés and overwrites them in his individual visual language, which is characterized by masking joy and pathos, longing and existentialism.
