In her visual language, Anna Bittersohl creates a multiple world in which she places the creature. These figurations, which are not always stable in substance, either merge with nature or resist it. One never knows for sure whether the acting creatures move devotedly or defiantly in the world. However, these are all only mental images, which are joined by the remembered, the experienced, the seen and the imagined. In "fragilities truce," which translates roughly as fragile truce, a dog-like animal stands in squalid surroundings. The viewer may put himself in the scenery - whether he may be glad that the dog is distracted scenting or should be worried because of its Habachtposition to witness a calm before the storm. The artist knows how to mediate confidently between external and internal movement and between figuration and abstraction.
