Camill Leberer, who makes use of Postminimalism and Concrete Art just as confidently as those of Arte povera, turns the viewer into a player: In the interplay of space and surface, iron construction and glass walling, opaque and transparent layers, exterior and interior relationships are dissolved. This is not much different with the partly overflexed, partly polished stainless steel plates as a wall piece. Through the sometimes transparent, sometimes opaque layers of paint and color and the one or other reflective surface, Leberer creates a painterly depth that is only grasped when the viewer walks along the work. In the reflective sections, he thus finds himself en passant. "I paint with plastic means." Thus he creates virtual spaces on the surface and mental spaces in his fully plastic experimental arrangements.
