Parallel to the depictions of "German intellectual heroes" by Anselm Kiefer, Günther Schöllkopf was intensively concerned with European culture. An expression of this reverence is this sheet from 1975, which brings together the fictitious "Académie Henri Heine", consisting of a series of portrait heads including an "Unknown Talent" on the edge for caricature and a kind of stele row with only named poets and thinkers - vis-à-vis on the right and left Heinrich Heine and presumably Voltaire in side profile, the latter with the speech bubble text: "Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you in the name of the alphabet". In the background, the young Napoleon can be seen, with a Montgolfiere hovering above him.
