Jürgen Brodwolf's sculptural principle of the so-called "tube figure", developed since the end of the 1950s, is located beyond traditional material and form. A wealth of associations is characteristic of the reception of Brodwolf's works. So is his delight in experimenting with the possibilities of combination, as is perceptible in the work "Tasse", created in 1973. Brodwolf's scenic arrangements and contextual mixtures constantly create new levels of meaning that always leave the viewer plenty of room for interpretation. At the same time, the renunciation of individual or gender characteristics of the tube figures favors their poetic openness.
