In his latest series of paintings "Lichtdeuter 'Daimos'" Thomas Deyle is once again concerned with light and its mediation through color. According to an ingenious system, he places color pigments on top of each other in countless layers, which, as they evaporate to the side, leave the impression of floating. The eye cannot perceive the transitions according to the laws of optics or determine the boundaries of the colors - it can only experience them, experience them sensually. The light interpreter Daimos refers to mythology, but in a private-mythical coloring. Like Phobos, Daimos is assigned to Mars, the god of war, which is why the moons of Mars are named after them. He also appears in the "Light" cycle (1977-2003) sen. The reference would be quite comprehensible, since Deyle's art can indeed be understood through music.
